The Australian Government’s Youth Forum is conducting an online consultation into body image in Australia, particularly as regards to youth. As part of this, they have put together a survey. If you’re in Australia, please take the survey and tell them your honest opinions. They are also calling for public submissions on the topic.
All the information is here:
Online Consultation on Body Image – calling for submissions
The link to the survey is about 2/3 of the way down the page.

Woah that survey takes some brain power (which I suppose is a good thing!). I’ll be posting the link on my blog too, hopefully encourage more people to take it.
I also wish that some of the more articulate members of the FA community could fill out this survey and make submissions. So if you’re not in Australia, but you want us to be body-positive, maybe you could fill it out too!
@RandomQuorum – Yeah it took me hours to fill out, but then I wanted to say as much as possible.
Did you read the Information Paper? It has a few things that concern me a little, and I hope to address those in a response.
I don’t think I saw anywhere that it was compulsory for you to be an Australian citizen or resident to take the survey, so I guess anyone could in fact fill it out.
I think we should broadcast this as far as we can through the fat-o-sphere… I didn’t see anywhere that required you to be in Australia to fill it out either (and really, how could they check?). I think the more responses they get from intelligent FA-types the better.
Also – I wonder if we all could get together (digitally speaking!) and come up with a public submission courtesy of FA? Now that would be some awesome right there…
Well I guess they could check your IP address but that’s not a foolproof way of proving where someone lives.
I think I will email a few other blog owners and see if they’d like to put a link in a post.
And Google Docs is decent enough for collaboration on things. It could work!
Unfortunately I can’t access the Shapely Prose Ning site at work – maybe you could put a post in the forums there as well to see who else would like to be involved?
